When will the sun shine?

It is exactly one month one day since I last sat down to type my thoughts here

A time of mixed emotions

Few times of happy moments

Alot of pain and heart ache

Wondering will the sun ever shine again?

Will the darkness keep thickening?

Will the tears ever dry?

Will the sun ever shine in the east?

Will the dusk never fall??

Will it??

Today my cousin would have walked down the aisle with the love of her love Wachira

Hadn't the Lord not called him to rest four months ago?!!!

We are enveloped in sadness

Taken aback in disbelief

Wrapped in sorrow

Marked by sadness

Torn in despair

Will the sun ever shine??

Will this season tire of the darkness

And for just one moment

Lord, could we have a little sunshine in our hearts Lord!

This I pray,

Amen.

Ps: This is not written out of lack of faith. Joy comes in the morning and I believe one day it will. This, like David, is the outcry of my heart! I am fixing my eyes unto Jesus, for He bottles my tears....I know He does.

Time Out!

Times up!!!

I need a time out

A time away from me

A time away from the rat race

Away from the competition of who is the bigger rat, perhaps the fatter one too.

I need the referree to sound the whistle

Half-time people!!! Half-time

Time out from the game of life

Time out from being a mother, a sister, a helper

Time out!!!

I wish there was a substitute

One to take over when I could not go on any more

One to stand in my shoes

One to keep the ball rolling while I catch some breath

While I rest my soul

Re-energize my body

Time out for me!

For the Lord has called me out of my sin

Jesus blew the whistle at the cross when He shed the blood for me

Undeserved but loved

Sinful yet redeemed

Forgotten yet remembered

Because my Lord called a time out!!

A time out on my life

For my life match was doomed

Doomed to hell

But He found it fit to blow the whistle

I stand a winner, because He is

For when He blew the whistle

For when God said: Time out!

I ceased, He became

Everyone requires a time out

A time away from selfish living

A time away from ourselves

For salvation is putting your greed away

Taking up the cost of discipleship

Living as per God's will

The match maybe yours

But God is still the referee.

TIME OUT! Do not be caught off guard when the groom comes for His church

Be found at His presence, doing kingdom business.

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

25! Its a Silver Jubilee :)

Oh! You guessed it right. I mark a quarter a century today, the silver year of life. Well, it depends on how much of an optimism, or not, you are when you look at life! Either way, I am a proud 25 year old lady and very proud of my age. Yes, ageing is inevitable (ha ha at 25, what will my mum say?).

In the words of James Garfield, "If wrinkles be written on our brows, let them not be written upon the heart. The spirit should never grow old." My spirit feels 16, my body is 25.

On serious matters, thus far, it has been, it is and it will keep being the Lord's doing!! I live by faith and not by sight, I do not live in ignorance or in arrogance, I do not live by the standards of the celebs of this age. I am sustained by God and of God. This life has taught me some great deals and lessons. So here are my 25s: lessons of all time. Hope they will bless, encourage and inspire someone :)

  • Whose report shall I believe?? #MyGreatestLesson. Only the Lord's, the rest is grapevine people.
  • No matter what, family is family, whether they disappoint or they live up to your expectation. They can never be traded!
  • There are battles I have to face and fight on my own, for how else will I learn?? Don't baby eagles learn the hard way??
  • My life is an open book. Some pick gems from it, while others burn it up page after page.
  • Remember short breaks in primary school?? Life requires you to take short breaks and just breathe, feel the sun, like an update on FaceBook and just have a hearty chit-chat. It's never that serious (courtesy of @bwangila)
  • Inspiring music heals the soul, soothes the heart. You should try gospel music.....ministers to your soul.
  • Lies do not end relationships! The truth usually does that. Check your Bible, the truth sets people free. Lies bind us in chains that gets us mistaken to be Canaan. You are in Egypt if you living a lie.Trust me, I have been there.
  • Life takes time, I mean so far its taken me 24 years. Only God knows how long my life will take so I will make every second count.
  • My health, my wealth. Take good care of your physical health. Some people are dying to have good health.
  • The truth is without Photoshop!
  • Always be thankful and say so!
  • The days I ran around naked in the spirit are the days the devil is like "checkmate!!"
  • We have to lead people to more than Sunday morning services! (still on this one Lord)
  • Sometimes I am wrong, I make errors. Yes, I do and I do need to say sorry.
  • I have the right to pack up and go, or better still tell you to pack up and leave. I cannot live in a suffocating relationship just because!
  • I cannot do everything, there are tasks I take up, and there are some I decline and it does not make me any lesser of a person. It's just wisdom :-)
  • Invest in real friendships, it is the cushion of life.
  • Do not awaken love until it so desires (Yes I said it #tough)
  • I am first a believer, then the rest! No debate in this.
  • The good wife! my latest addiction in the list of series. Life is like a legal suite. We are always in the defense or the prosecution. We are always objecting motions, some get sustained and others get over-ruled.
  • Seasons change, friendships end, bad relationships die. Just never be caught off-guard in the spirit, know the times.
  • My profession is my passion.
  • Be diligent in the little.
  • Know the Word, the devil knows it too you know.
  • Smile when your angry! It gives the tongue a chance to rest and say the right words.
These are my 25s of all times. 24+bonus :-) 24 was great, with a few unexpected occurrences. Those around me made all the difference. Thank you to God, my family, my friends, my readers, my colleagues, my church family and everyone who took time to make 24 memorable. At 24, I found grace, love, hope, strength and passion for life.

Here's to a new year, a new season, another chance for me to do His will.

It all belongs to you Lord.

Amen :-)

A Hurt Heart :-( :-(

Wachira,

We scroll our contact lists to give you a buzz, then we cancel the call

We send texts to your line, only to realise that the texts are permanently pending and eventually FAILED is the result we get

We write on your Facebook wall, then we realise there is never gonna be a wall-to-wall conversation

We post pics of you and wait for you to diss them

But all we have is long, loud silence.

We see you in our lives,

We dream of you,

We remember the good, old days

Just like the other day.

But it is never the same.

The pain never subsides,

The smiles never shine on our faces

The vibes are never the same

The vacuum left is larger than words could suffice.

There are days I flip through your Fb pics just to block reality and feel that you are near

That this reality is just but a dream,

I keep wishing that this is a serious prank

That one day we would joke about it

But my wishes, are horses that beggars never ride

Your kababes misses you greatly

Some things we will never understand

Its been 1 month, 11 days since you left

But the pain is fresher Wachira Waithaka

The sting of death, only we can tell of the pain

We miss you

Lord, carry us

Comfort our hearts

Cause what the devil meant for harm to be a blessing

To be a chance to value life, relationships

Above all, to realise, life of man is like that of a flower

We are planted, we nourish and someday we are uprooted

Rest well Wachira aka Bunjee. Rest well.

Comfort us dear Lord

Strengthen us

Above all redeem our hearts, save our hearts

Carry us in your arms Lord.

Heaven knows we sure need a hug

Thanks Bunjee for always being family! Wepukhulu, we baptised you :-(

*Tough times for us. Pray with us.

Remember to .....
If blog posts could speak, this post would wail word after word.

God bless,

Mkosh.

Life in my Lenses

Morning people,

April it is. We are now on the second quarter of the year 2012. Not by our strength or might, but by the grace of God that we have come thus far.

Were it not for His grace, where would we be. If you are able to read this without any effort, take a second and thank HE who watched over you day and night. He who never slumbered as we slept without doubt that we would definitely see the next day.

If you planned an activity, a hook-up, a meeting, a wedding, a birthday and lived to see its fruition, take a moment too, for some planned and ended up not seeing the dawn of such plans.

Did you escape this?

Did you come close to this, or passed by a road, and several hours later see this in the dailies?

What am I saying?

Can you breathe?

Can you eat at least one meal?

Can you see the sunrise and the sunset every day?

Can you feel the scorch of the sun?

Can you afford bus fare?

Can you load airtime on your mobile phone?

Can you tweet, Facebook?

Can you smile?

Can you walk?

Can you breathe effortlessly?

Do you have to go for chemotherapy sessions every week?

Are you nursing a wound from a tragic road accident or fire burns?

#Enough said.

Well, we still ask whether God exists. He does. For by His mercies and grace we live. By His will, our curtains may close anytime after this full stop.

Be encouraged, to count your blessings and push on.

*Inspired by Baby Malaika's story

We often take for granted, the very things that most deserve our gratitude.

Have a magnificent and gracious month!

FAITH! FAITH! FAITH!

Faith Faith Faith!!!

Faith that can move mountains

Faith as small as a mustard seed is still faith

Faith!!!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for.

It is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see!!!Hebrews 11:1

Without faith, it is impossible to please God

This week, please God and put a smile on the King of Kings

And watch the King

Shift continents for you

Dry the rivers for you

Favour You before kings you know not

Watch Him slay the Egyptians pursuing you

Watch Him provide for you!!!

With Faith, you touch the Master's heart!!!

You melt His heart

What more would please a son than to see His Father delighted in him??

By the power of the Holy Spirit,

Where two or three agree in His name on earth, so it is in Heaven

Let us declare and decree

That this week we shall venture out by faith

Not by our might and power , but through His spirit

And with just a sling and pebble stones

Goliath shall come down with a thud

All to the glory and honour of His name

In Jesus name I do pray

AMEN!!!!

You've got to have a baby's faith to understand a Father's might :)

Day One, Step One

Life is full of seasons

Even the Bible records that there is time for everything under the sun

There are seasons of summer and sunshine

That don't last a lifetime

As we need the winter seasons too

Then the spring and the autumn

Well, we need to enjoy the good the bad and the ugly

For through the rough times

We become stronger

When we are broke

We learn the value of money

Through the struggles

We learn to trust in the Most High

So my friends,

As we cruise on life's highway

Don't be afraid to take the first step into your season

For nothing happens by chance

God orders your steps through it all

So forge on with confidence

As God will be with you

Through the fire,

Through the waters,

Through the sunshine

Through the ordinary days

Trust Him

Enjoy your season

And learn all you can through it all

And you will come forth as gold!!!

Isaiah 30:15 ''In repentance and rest is your salvation,in quietness and trust is your

strength"

My friend, baby steps into your season. While you are in it, learn all you can.God never tries out stuff. Remember God knit you together in your mother's womb, He got you child.Trust Him.

Worry Not!!

Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever  you go.

My word for the week is Be Strong...Worry not!!!
Being strong is not an option, it is a command from our Father.
Jesus warned us not to worry...we should be like birds of the air, care free.

''For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to to his life?'' Mt 6:25

Worry is not worship!!!Worry robs us of the power to worship as it diverts our focus from God to our situation. Worry glorifies the problem and minimizes the value, power and potential of a solution. It minimizes the power of God in our lives.

So my friends, do not get distracted by the devil's tactic of bringing fear upon us. Jesus is more important than the problem before us.

God has not given us a Spirit of fear His word records that. Fear is not of God.

This week I want to ignore the enemy and worship the King through my trials and temptations.

For if I learn to worship while the enemy sits across from me at the same table,

If I learn to pay such close attention to the King of Kings that I forget about the enemy staring at my face,

Then I get to win.

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Mt6.34

Peace be upon you my friends....not peace as the world gives...but peace that surpasses all human understanding.

Shalom

Give me some hope

Give me some hope

Give me some hope

Give me some hope

Push me a mile

Push me a mile

And a mile some more

Cut me some slack with all the negativity

I do not need any more attitude

Anymore hatred, hypocrisy et.al

The world is already a cold place as it is

A cruel place, that I cannot call home no more

Warm my heart

Warm my life

That I may forget the coldness outside

Give me some hope my friend

Push me a mile my mother

Give me some hope.

Home is where my heart is

Home is where I find warmth in

My friend, push me a mile

A mile in the right direction

Towards hope, love and peace.

Fare Well My Valentines

Valentines Day, February 14, a day of exaggerated chemical romance, excruciating pain for those who feel love is but a myth and a sales boom for the florist, the hotel industry and the chocolate business. To me, its a day like no other! Woke up to make a brand, to sell my Public Relations knowledge and have fun while at it. I woke up with great ambition for making it happen at the #MarriageBuilt2Last book launch for our dear client Jennifer Karina . I like the drama and the effort that comes along with the pressure of Valentines day, so for a single soul like me, it was free entertainment.:-)

So while roses were graceful given to the loves of their lives, while kisses were exchanged between couples, texts of plagiarised content from renown poets were sent, mine was a different story. Somewhere in Lenana, in a certain 'kijiji' children were in distress, in pain, in doubt of God's existence...in total disarray of emotions. Agnes Muthakye Kabiru, a great inspiration to many, but little is known of her, succumbed to skin cancer on February 13, 2012.

You may be wondering, "who is she?" Well, she may not have made the newspaper headlines, featured on prime news, but she sure did touch heaven with her courage, her faith and her strength to live on one more day every day. She is the main character of the film In My genes , a film that highlights the feeling of being "white" in a "black" society; the plights of people living with albinism.
Agnes sharing her experience during launch of In My Genes
Agnes battled skin cancer particularly Basal Cell Carcinoma since 1994, and it was not until she met Lupita of In My Genes that she knew that she had cancer. This was in 2006. A blind woman with albinism, whose strength none can compare. Whose faith in God awes even Christians. A woman who made a living out of  meticulously weaving kiondos of different colours. A blind woman who overcome all odds and was a mummy to 7 children and a wife to one Mr. Kabiru. A woman who served in her local church faithfully and one who every Sunday had a testimony and a thanksgiving unto the Lord despite her circumstances.

Agnes and her daughter Monica during the launch of Africa Cancer Foundation

The irony of love my friends, the irony of life. While we laughed or faked the existence of valentines, the late Agnes' family lost their valentine, their mummy, their bread winner and for a while hope in tomorrow. I may not have known this woman personally, but from her family and friends, a great dent has been left in their road of life. We cannot ignore the existence of cancer or people suffering with albinism, we cannot sit and watch our albino brothers and sisters succumb to skin cancer, we cant keep waiting for someone else to always reach out. This is our christian duty to. this is love in action. Skin cancer is preventable.

My people perish due to lack of knowledge. Be informed about skin cancer and albinism, spread the love, hope to our brothers and sisters and to their family. For me this is true, selfless love.

1 Corinthians 13 if we speak in tongues of men and angels and have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

RIP Agnes Muthakye. My valentine, you have opened my life to a new chapter, gladdened my spirit with your life's story and taught me that we do not always need a new sermon, sometimes its time for practicals of knowledge gained.
RIP Dear!

What next? time for action. contact Albinism Society of Kenya and 7th Sense Communications on how we can help out our sisters and brothers. I believe even donating sunscreen, or doing your own awareness through personal interactions and social media will surely go a long way.

People first, then money, then things- Suze Orman

Be blessed and spread the love, wherever you can! As long as you can breathe.
